CDM Principal Designer

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) require health and safety to be considered from the outset of every construction project. By applying the Principles of Prevention from the earliest design stages, many foreseeable risks can be eliminated or reduced before work starts on site.

At Anstey Horne, we provide statutory assurance by acting as either the CDM Principal Designer or a CDM Advisor. We support clients in meeting their duties under CDM 2015 while helping project teams make informed decisions that improve safety, buildability and project outcomes.

Our involvement often begins at RIBA Stage 0 or 1 and continues through design development, construction and project completion. By engaging early, we help identify significant risks, reduce the need for redesign and support efficient project delivery.

We coordinate health and safety during the pre-construction phase, working closely with clients, designers and contractors to embed the Principles of Prevention throughout the design process.

Our advice is clear, proportionate and tailored to the needs of each project. We encourage open discussion, constructive challenge and effective coordination so that health and safety is considered alongside programme, quality, cost and buildability from the outset.
