Tony Leishman
I am a Senior Director leading the national Fire Engineering team. As a Chartered Building Surveyor, Chartered Building Engineer, Fire Engineer and Incorporated Engineer (Higher-Risk Buildings), I have over eight years’ experience across the built environment sector.
Since specialising in building and fire safety consultancy, I have played a key role in developing Anstey Horne’s Fire Risk Appraisal of External Walls (FRAEW) service. I have undertaken numerous external wall assessments and authored Anstey Horne’s first Building Safety Case Report for an early adopter of the Building Safety Regulator’s higher-risk building regime.
My expertise includes developing fire strategies for new and existing buildings and advising on complex façade remediation projects. I have a particular interest in the proportionate application of fire engineering principles to existing buildings and the regulatory framework introduced by the Building Safety Act 2022.
In 2024, I was honoured to receive the RICS Building Surveyor of the Year Award. I also hold an MSc in Fire Safety Engineering from the University of Central Lancashire, graduating with Distinction.
I am a member of the Fire Engineering Council of the Fire Industry Association and actively support the advancement of professional standards and competence across the fire safety sector.
