Simon Hill
I’ve been fortunate to spend over four decades surveying and advising on a diverse range of commercial property, building many long-standing client relationships along the way. My career began in the late 1980s, helping Mercury establish its mobile network across Greater London during the early days of the telecommunications revolution. Along the way, I embraced emerging technology, leading what I believe was the first fully electronic portfolio vendor’s survey at a time when digital storage was both costly and remarkably limited.
Throughout my career, I have navigated significant legislative and industry changes, particularly around accessibility, energy efficiency, and the transition towards net zero. One lesson learned early remains constant: never accept anything at face value—always question and challenge.
As Dilapidations Lead at Anstey Horne, I draw on extensive experience in building maintenance, refurbishment, and occupier standards. Our specialist team advises on several millions of square feet of commercial property annually, helping clients achieve favourable negotiated settlements and, where necessary, providing CPR Part 35-compliant expert evidence where this relates to a defined dilapidations dispute.
Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, making jam, and anything wrapped in pastry.
