Director, Head of Dept | Building Safety
London

My career began in Local Authority Building Control, which I balanced with completing a five-year part-time degree at the University of Westminster. During this time, I developed a strong passion for fire safety and moved into the social housing sector, where I focused on fire risk assessments (FRAs), fire strategies, FRA remedial works, and major asset investment programmes. This naturally progressed into the Building Safety field, including EWS remediation and the implementation of measures arising from the Building Safety Act 2022.

As the designated in-house Building Safety Manager for a large social housing provider, I represented the organisation within the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) and Building Safety Regulator (BSR) Early Adopters Programme. I contributed to a successful safety case report trial with the BSR, working closely with multidisciplinary assessment teams. The resulting report was recognised as a best-practice example and was subsequently used by the BSR for internal assessment and training purposes.

Today, I enjoy collaborating with clients to develop safety case reports, strategies, and gateway applications, always striving for pragmatic, proportionate safety outcomes. Outside work, I enjoy various sports, long dog walks with a pint or two, and spending quality time with family and friends.
