BA (Hons) CIHM aFa
Building Safety Coordinator

I began my career as a Special Educational Needs Teacher, working in education for ten years before Covid sparked a career move into project management. Following the introduction of the Building Safety Act, I led projects focused on ensuring high-rise residential buildings were compliant, demonstrably safe, whilst satisfying the requirements of the Building Safety Regulator. Through this work, I discovered a genuine passion for building safety and decided to make it my long-term career.

I’m a self-confessed building safety geek who enjoys keeping up with new regulations and guidance, and translating complex requirements into practical, accessible solutions. To deepen my expertise, I completed the CIOB Level 6 Diploma in Building Safety Management, because, as I often tell my children, you’re never too old to learn something new.

While colleagues often seek my advice on building registration and height criteria, fewer know that I enjoy karaoke and can usually be found singing Celine Dion or Whitney Houston classics.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to support the implementation of the Fire Safety (Residential Evacuation Plans) (England) Regulations and continue promoting safety, clarity, and good practice across the sector.
