Matthew Lawson

I have 5 years of experience in fire engineering and I am currently working towards my chartership through the institute of Fire Engineers.

I received a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from Loughborough University and found my way into Fire Engineering over a pint with a mentor.

I have significant experience with high-risk residential buildings in the UK as both new-build and remediation projects. I previously led the Safety Case team for an international consultancy and It’s been excellent to add my experience to Anstey Horne’s rich pool of talented professionals. My experience in fire engineering encompasses delivery of Fire Strategies across a wide variety of projects, including high-hazard industrial, logistics & distribution and mixed-use. I enjoy working closely with our Fire Team to develop talent and reliably deliver outstanding work to clients. I like to think of myself as approachable and pragmatic and work to guide clients through what can often be a confusing legislative landscape.

Outside of work, I am a passionate supporter of Newcastle United, I love to play Tennis and you can often find me on a golf course, teeing up my next hole-in-one.
