FRICS FPTS MCIArb
Chief Executive Officer

I have been a Chartered Building Surveyor since 1992 and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in 2008. My involvement in party wall and neighbourly matters dates back almost as far as the Great Fire of London – at least it sometimes feels that way.

For more than 25 years, I was an active member of the Pyramus & Thisbe Society, most recently serving as its Financial Officer. I led the working groups responsible for two editions of The Party Wall Act Explained, delivered numerous lectures on the subject, chaired several RICS Building Surveyors’ National Conferences, and served on the RICS Professional Conduct and Disciplinary Boards.

In 2008, I received the Michael Barrett Memorial Award from RICS for what they described as ‘his outstanding work in the cases of party walls, neighbour disputes etc’. Throughout my career, I have advised on projects ranging from major City developments to individual homeowners.

Since 2023, I have served as CEO, completing a journey from “man and boy” to grandfather within AH, even surviving the permed-hair phase of the 1980s.

Outside work, I enjoy fishing, live music, theatre, time with my grandchildren, and attempting to manage Bosun, my lawless beagle.
