Grace Churchill

I began my career as an Inspector with the Health and Safety Executive, where I gained first-hand experience of construction health and safety from the regulator’s perspective. Investigating incidents and working with duty holders across a wide range of projects gave me a lasting appreciation of how good planning, thoughtful design and effective collaboration can prevent problems before they arise.

Today, as an Associate Director at Anstey Horne, I advise clients, developers and design teams on their duties under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. My focus is on design risk management, applying the Principles of Prevention and helping clients meet their statutory duties through clear, practical advice. I enjoy working with multidisciplinary teams from the earliest design stages, encouraging open discussion, constructive challenge and informed decision-making that leads to projects which are safer to construct, easier to maintain and ultimately deliver better outcomes.

Having worked on projects across the residential, commercial, education, healthcare and public sectors, I understand that every project brings its own challenges. Whether supporting a complex refurbishment, a high-rise residential development or a heritage asset, I believe the best solutions come from asking the right questions early, understanding how people will build, use and maintain a space, and finding practical ways to manage risk without losing sight of programme or commercial objectives.

Outside work, you’ll find me exploring the North Norfolk coast with my Doxiepoo, Ruby, while my cat Bob enjoys the peace at home. I love live music and travelling, although I’m yet to find anywhere that quite beats a windswept Norfolk beach and a good pub at the end of it.
